
Our Story
Owners, Shawn and Beth brought Texas-style BBQ to Minnesota in 2019 and added a bit of their own touch.
Shawn is more than just your backyard BBQ chef. He loves to cook meat low and slow for hours and hours in their custom-built, Minnesota-made, reverse flow log smoker. Shawn grew up in Mankato building a passion for food by watching his dad craft family dinners.
Beth grew up in South Dakota, learning many culinary skills from her grandma. She moved to Mankato to attend college at Minnesota State University. While attending college she met Shawn while working together at a local restaurant. She fell in love with the town and a gregarious young chef, so she decided to stay.
Shawn and Beth’s shared passion for finding exceptional dishes brought them to explore food in different regions, which led them to their love of Texas-style BBQ. Shawn’s patience and expertise with smoked meats and Beth’s attention to detail and background in catering make a perfect partnership.
They use a mix of family recipes like Beth’s grandma’s sought-after potato salad, coupled with recipes they have perfected on their own, from their scratch-made rubs to Shawn’s delicious mac sauce. You can enjoy their mouthwatering meats and sides as a catering set up, out of their food truck, or at home with their vacuumed sealed frozen meat packs.
